1975-March-25 Tangerine Dream Festival Theatre Adelaide, Australia Disc 1 - 41.52 1 Part One 41.52 Disc 2 - 59.58 1 Part Two 42.50 2 Part Three 17.08 ? See Below Edgar Froese, Chris Franke, Michael Hoenig Track 2 (Disc 2) was listed as being from the 74-Dec-13 Reims show. However, after listening to the actual Reims show, I cannot find a match between the two. This one has a French radio announcer at the beginning and end, while my other one does not, though this does not mean they are from different shows. After all, as the Reims show was supposedly broadcast at some point by a radio station, it would be easy to assume that it was broadcast by a French station, though I have no idea. Oddly, though my Reims show was supposedly from a radio broadcast, there is no DJ anywhere on it! So I'm beginning to question if it's really from a broadcast, though it definitely sounds like it's from a soundboard recording, so.... who knows. The thing that I cannot match between the two is the chorus voices on this one that are not on my Reims recording. So I then listened to the DJ for some hints, even though I do not speak French. After the DJ comes back at the end (at the point where the chorus starts), I thought I heard him say something that sounded like Australia. So I gave this show a good listen and sure enough there is a chorus on Part Two. Sadly, though, it is not the same as the one on Track 2. I listened to the following shows and could not find a match with any of them: 75-March-13 * Melbourne, Australia 75-April-2 * London, England 75-August-16 Orange, France 75-September-23 Reims, France * Had some synth chorus on it (I cannot remember about 75-Mar-13) So, given that the 74-Dec-13 and 75-Aug-16 shows did not have any similar chorus effects, I think that it makes sense that this effect was used only on the March 1975 Australian Tour (big assumption). If so, then this means two possible things: 1) It is actually from this March-25 show (though not duplicated by the first two tracks). At first I was thinking that this would make this show a little longer (102min) than they were playing during this period , whereas the March-13 show was only 90min. However, looking at the times for the two nearest shows I have recordings for (119min for 74-Dec-13) and (123min for 75-Apr-2), it looks like the March-13 recording is woefully short, which may mean it is an incomplete recording. In addition, both the 74-Dec-13 and 75-Apr-2 shows end with about a 14min piece, whereas the March-13 does not. So, now my first thought is that the mystery piece is actually the last part of this March-25 Adelaide show. 2) If not from this March-25 Adelaide show, then I think it is from one of the other Australian shows below: March-16 Sydney, Australia Supposedly recorded March-18 Auckland, New Zealand March-20 Brisbane, Australia March-22 Melbourne, Australia Supposedly recorded March-23 Canberra, Australia March-24 Melbourne, Australia Supposedly recorded March-26 Perth, Australia March-27 Perth, Australia Though only three of these were known to be recorded, all of them could have actually been recorded, so any of them are a possibility. It may even be the missing encore from March-13. As the guy I got this recording from (Eric) wisely pointed out, it could have been the influence of Michael Hoenig on that tour. This makes total sense, as I noted some synth chorus effects on the 75-Apr-2 (and possibly 75-Mar-13), both of which had Hoenig in the line-up. So I think this adds even more credence to my theory that this mystery piece is from the Hoenig shows in 1975. Of course, this is just my current opinion. I may be completely wrong about this. If you have any additional information, I'd love to hear from you.
